In the face of the COVID-19 virus, mankind is a community with a shared future for blessings and misfortunes. In order to help South Africa relieve the pressure of fighting against the epidemic, yesterday afternoon, the ceremony of Zhejiang Orient Gene Biotech Co., Ltd. donating COVID-19 test reagents to the South African Medical Research Council was held at the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce. Ambassador Xie Shengwen, ambassador of South Africa to China, Sheng Qiuping, director general of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce, Han Jie, deputy director general and head of related department, and Fang Xiaoliang, general manager of Zhejiang Orient Gene Biotech Co., Ltd. attended the donation ceremony together. We will join hands with South Africa to fight against the epidemic.

In November 2020, the “Zhejiang enterprises voluntary donation of anti-epidemic materials to African countries” initiated by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce has received positive response from many enterprises in Zhejiang, and more than ten African countries have received donated materials from Zhejiang enterprises. Among which, Zhejiang Orient Gene Biotech Co., Ltd. offered to donate 100,000 doses of COVID-19 detection reagent to South Africa.

The donation is one of the largest that the South African government has received from the Chinese private sector. The donation event also received care and support from the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. Touchroad Group provided logistics services for the shipment of the donated materials to South Africa. A total of 100,000 doses of COVID-19 detection reagent donated at the donor conference will be flown to South Africa in the coming days. We believe that the South African people will be more confident on the road to fighting against the epidemic. Orient Gene will continue to carry forward the spirit of public welfare, firmly practice social responsibility, take responsibility, and make positive contributions to the global fight against the epidemic. At the same time, Orient Gene will also practice the corporate value of “early warning for health, and escorting for life” and continue to provide relevant international assistance.
