An in vitro real-time POR test for the quantitative detection of the Human immunodeficiency Virus Type I (HIV-1) RNA nucleic acid levels in human plasma or serum. It is used as an aid in the diagnosis of HlV-1 infection and monitoring the effects of antiretroviral treatment. Positive results are indicative of the presence of HlV-1 RNA: Positive results do not rule out bacterial infection or co-infection with other viruses. Rence and should not be used as conclusive evidence for the diagnosis or exclusion of diseases.
